Hmmmmmm summer. My hometown of Bismarck, ND is a river town where a persons summer is spent baking on a sandbar or jet-skiing or on the Missouri river. But of course, you can’t got to the river without a drink. My drink of choice – Blackberry Lemonade. It is so easy to make, even when your family is in a rush; which mine ALWAYS is.
For this recipe you will need-
- 1 carton of blackberries
- 3 lemons
- 1 cup of raw sugar [I used Sugar in the Raw]
- 3 cups of water
Bring 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a boil. Meanwhile, squeeze the juice of 2 1/2 lemons and muddle the carton of blackberries. put the juice & blackberries into a pitcher and shake. I cut up a few lemons and put them in the pitcher as well. Remove boiling sugar/water mixture from heat and let sit about 5 minutes, adding the mixture to the pitcher once it has cooled. Add the remaining 2 cups of water and some ice cubes. Serve with a wedge of lemon on the side of the glass and enjoy.

Ummm it sounds healthy, fresh and delicious! Perfect for hot weather!
